COALITION to OPTIMIZE the MANAGEMENT of PAIN AROUND SURGERY
was established to increase the awareness and adoption of opioid sparing pain relief options before, during, and after surgery.
PRESIDENT, COMPAS FOUNDATION
Dr. Greg Mancini serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine where he focuses on the areas of gastrointestinal, bariatric, and hernia surgery. He is also the founder and program director of the Bariatric and Robotics Fellowship in the Department of Surgery.
Tennessee is one of many states that have been particularly badly affected by the opioid epidemic and Dr. Mancini is passionately involved in finding ways to help mitigate this crisis. He has instituted innovative multi-modal pain protocols in his clinical practice and is a founder and current President of COMPAS. In his role at COMPAS, Dr. Mancini is instrumental in supporting programs and outreach efforts that provide the tools and information for both the clinical and patient community to make informed, collaborative choices regarding optimal post-surgical pain control.
